Daredevils wins kings 11 punjab :)

Riding on captain Gautam Gambhir's half-century, Delhi manage to pull up a tense five-wicket win over Mohali.

Chasing a modest target of 143, Delhi have lost two early wickets in the form of Virender Sehwag and Tillakaratne Dilshan as Sreesanth claimed both the wickets in the same over.

AB de Villiers also soon followed his teammates into the dressing room.
Even Dinesh Karthik failed to sustain to put Delhi in a spot of bother but captain Gautam Gambhir held on to his wicket.

Even though wickets kept falling at the other end, Gambhir made sure that he keep the run-rate going as he slowly but steadily marched his team towards the victory target.
Just when Delhi were looking to win comfortablr, Irfan Pathan claimed the all-important wicket of Gambhir with Delhi requiring just three runs to let the match hang in balance again.

But Delhi batsmen kept their nerves to take their team home at the end.
Delhi bowlers managed to restrict Mohali to a mere 142 for nine in their allotted 20 overs.

Mohali lose an early wicket after two time semi-finalists Delhi put them in to bat upon winning the toss. Manvinder Bisla got run out.

Thereafter Farveez Maharoof claimed the wickets of captain Kumar Sangakkara and
Yuvraj Singh in the same over to push Mohali on to the backfoot.
Mahela Jayawardene was the next to go in the very next over as Pradeep Sangwan took his wicket.

Ravi Bopara started to re-build the innings after Mohali lost their top-order for less than 50 runs on the board.

Bopara continued to play his shots and in the process completed his half-century as well but wickets kept falling at the other end.

At the end, Mohali could reach only 142 for nine.

Mohali, playing at home and under a new captain can count on the enthusiastic local support against Gautam Gambhir's side.

Kumar Sangakkara, who has taken over from Yuvraj Singh as skipper of Mohali, will however face some stiff challenges. He is unlikely to avail the services of Aussie opener and the inaugural season's top-scorer, Shaun Marsh.

Delhi, on the other hand, have a surfeit of raw talent. The batting will once again revolve around the dangerous Virender Sehwag and skipper Gambhir. Tillakaratne Dilshan and AB de Villiers have done wonders for the side over the last two years.

Teams:
Mohali: KC Sangakkara*†, MS Bisla, RS Bopara, DPMD Jayawardene, Yuvraj Singh, IK Pathan, M Kaif, PP Chawla, RR Powar, YA Abdulla, S Sreesanth

Delhi: G Gambhir*, V Sehwag, TM Dilshan, AB de Villiers, KD Karthik†, M Manhas, MF Maharoof, A Mishra, PJ Sangwan, VY Mahesh, DP Nannes

Sachin Tendulkar Rewrites History

And with this victory India clinched the three-match series with one game to spare.

Tendulkar (200 not out) became the first batsman in the four-decade history of ODI to hammer a double century as India piled on a mammoth 401 for three and then skittled out South Africa for 248 in 42.5 overs for a facile win.

Sachin Tendulkar rewrote history by smashing the first double ton in one-dayers as India crushed South Africa by 153 runs in the second ODI.

With this victory, India not only took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series and rendered Saturday's third and final match in Ahmadabad inconsequential but also ensured there was no threat to their status as the number two ODI side in the world.

For them, Dinesh Karthik (79 off 85 balls), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (68 not out off 35 balls) and Yusuf Pathan (36 off 23 balls) starred with the bat but the day belonged to Tendulkar.

Everything else paled in comparison to Tendulkar's epic 147-ball blistering knock, studded with 25 fours and three sixes, as the master blaster treated the capacity crowd at the Captain Roop Singh stadium to a stunning exhibition of strokeplay.

It was not only Tendulkar's 46th ODI century but also the highest score in one-dayers, eclipsing the previous record of 194 which was held jointly by Pakistan's Saeed Anwar and Zimbabwe's Charles Conventry.
